The mpox (monkeypox) virus is continuing to spread throughout Texas The JYNNEOS vaccine is used to help prevent an individual from contracting the monkeypox virus and is not used as a treatment for currently infected individuals.

Health Care Providers and mpox (monkeypox)

Health care providers can now order testing through commercial labs, such as Labcorp, Quest and ARUP to test patients for mpox (monkeypox). Please follow the commercial lab's recommendations for specimen collection and shipping.
