The Collin County Historical Commission (CCHC) is the official local arm of the Texas Historical Commission. The CCHC currently has twenty members appointed by the Commissioners Court and representing all four quadrants of Collin County. It receives funding from Collin County to serve as the umbrella organization for all historical preservation and education groups within the county. However, the CCHC is not a collecting organization. Donation inquiries should be directed towards local Historical Organization.

The CCHC holds regular meetings on the last Wednesday of each month, beginning at 10 a.m. (except for November will move to the first of December, if falls on Thanksgiving week and no other meeting in December).

*NEW* Meeting Location: Collin County Commissioner's Court Room, 4th Floor, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney, TX 75071

The Collin County Historical Commission helps preserve and educate on the rich history of this county by:

  • Initiating and conducting programs and activities for the preservation of our historical heritage
  • Marking, interpreting, preserving and accumulating information on our history and landmarks
  • Serving as an umbrella organization for all public and private historical groups in the county, in order to encourage, support, and promote these groups’ activities
