County Clerk: Military Discharge

Military discharge records (DD214) can be filed in the McKinney or Plano location. Certified copies may be obtained from the McKinney and Plano locations to qualified applicants.

• Texas Local Government Code, Section 192.002 authorizes the County Clerk to file a military discharge at no cost.
• By filing the military discharge form, a permanent record is maintained for future proof of service for veterans' benefits. The original is returned to the owner after recording. Military records are confidential and can only be released to a qualified applicant.
