Important Notice

In accordance with House Bill 4350, passed in the 89th Legislature, some information has been redacted from certain instruments in this database.  The online database does not constitute the official repository of real property records and may not reflect the complete or unaltered contents of those records as maintained in the official real property records.

County Clerk Records Request

Please complete the Online Property Records Request Form to obtain land record Documents.

Plats

Plat Filing Requirements are as follows:

  • Size requirement is 24x36 inches.
  • Plat must have one black line copy with original, legible seals and signatures.  If owner is a company, the company name must be included above signature.
  • All signatures must be notarized.  Notary seal must be affixed and legible with expiration date.
  • Seals must be affixed by approver of the plat, city or county, surveyor and notary.
  • Tax certificates are required.
  • A 2x4 inch blank space on lower right corner of plat is required for recording label
  • All plats filed after 3:00 pm will be accepted the following business day.

Bond to Indemnify

Bond Information Sheet must be completed and submitted and submitted with the Bond to the McKinney office for recording.

  • If no service is needed, please complete the waiver of notice section on the information sheet and submit when recording the bond.
  • Bond to Indemnify can be submitted in person or mailed.
  • If paying by credit card, please include contact information with your mailing.
  • An additional convenience fee for credit card payments will be applied.
  • Electronic recordings will not be accepted.

Assumed Names   

The Texas Business and Commerce Code Title 5 Chapter 71.051 requires persons conducting business or providing professional services to file an Unincorporated Assumed Name Certificate in the county in which the person will be conducting business.  Please use the following guidelines when applying:

  • Please complete the online application and then visit either the McKinney or Plano office to finalize the filing of your assumed name or abandonment of assumed name within 10 calendar days from the date of submission.
  • If an unincorporated business has one or more partners, each partner must be present at the time of filing the assumed name certificate.
  •  Fees will vary according to the type of assumed name certificate you are filing.  Please contact our office for information.

Assumed Name Search

Searching an assumed name business may be conducted in person, online or by mail.  If requested by mail, the search fee is $10.00.  There is no fee for a search in person or online.
