Collin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division Successfully Interrupts Active Cockfighting Operation
[Collin County, Texas] – December 1, 2025 – On Friday, November 28, 2025, deputies with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a rural property on County Road 697 in the Farmersville area in response to a report of animal cruelty. Upon arrival, deputies observed approximately 20 individuals fleeing the location on foot. Multiple individuals were detained on scene, and several others were located and arrested by deputies in the surrounding area with assistance from the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office drone unit.
While on scene, deputies discovered evidence consistent with an active cockfighting operation. A search warrant was obtained and executed at the property, resulting in the seizure of 55 live fighting roosters, two deceased roosters, various forms of cockfighting paraphernalia, and cash from the scene. The roosters were taken by Collin County Animal Control, where they are currently being safely housed and cared for.
Eight individuals were arrested on charges related to cockfighting and evading arrest. Several others were cited for spectating. Three of the individuals arrested were later determined to be in the United States unlawfully, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed immigration detainers on them.
The following individuals were taken into custody:
- Maria Eduwiges Noguez Martinez and Diego Armando Alanis were each charged with Cockfighting: Causes or Earns (State Jail Felony). Martinez’s bond was set at $20,000, and Alanis’s bond was set at $30,000.
- Leonardo Rodriguez Bautista and Cesar Antonio Gutierrez Pena were each charged with Cockfighting: Space/Owns/Trains/Equips (Class A Misdemeanor) and Evading Arrest or Detention (Class A Misdemeanor). Bonds were set at $20,000 and $10,000, respectively.
- Jose Luis Martinez Alvarez, Aldo Jesus Osornia Victorino, Emilio Pereyra Govea, and Zacorios Octavio Castilleja were each charged with Evading Arrest or Detention (Class A Misdemeanor), with bond set at $10,000, and were also issued citations for Cockfighting Spectating (Class C Misdemeanor).
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to enforcing animal cruelty laws and dismantling illegal animal fighting operations. This case remains under active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
